Y’all have inspired me to make this reference page for Down South Paleo so that you can see all the ingredients I use, where I get them from, and what brands I typically purchase.  I will also notate substitutions as I have received them from readers, even if I have not tried them myself. Please…

Paleo Potato Chip Cookies

Look I’m just gonna be real honest here. Either you are gonna be my new BFF or you are going to unfollow me…all based entirely on this recipe. It’s not egg free, or nut free, or nightshade free. It has all the stuff that dreams are made of but it is NOT what cavemen ate….

A Big Giant Texas Hug

August 12, 2015 by predominantlypaleo 14 Comments

This morning I had to set my alarm for 6.30am so I could register my middle daughter for gymnastics. Yes, that is the crazy place I live in where registration opens at 7am and by 7.05am, the slots are filled. So I sat in my dark quiet room, in my warm bed and with one eye…

Paleo INSTANT POT MEXI-MEATLOAF

July 20, 2015 by predominantlypaleo 73 Comments

Today I made this Paleo Instant Pot Mexi-Meatloaf and it was a really nice twist on regular meatloaf, which I also love. This recipe could easily be made into meatballs too, so if that suits your fancy, then get on it! Paleo Instant Pot Mexi-Meatloaf All this Instantpotting (that’s a thing right?) has got me…

Instant Pot Paleo Recipes

July 17, 2015 by predominantlypaleo 24 Comments

If 2015 has one popular paleo small appliance, it’d have to be the Instant Pot! People are embracing whole foods but they want dinner fast – and we all know that the Instant Pot is basically like that machine on the Jetson’s where you type in what you want and it spits it out for…

Paleo Slow Cooker – Round UP

July 12, 2015 by predominantlypaleo 13 Comments

One of the biggest complaints about paleo has always been the time factor. I get it 100%! When you make meals from scratch and aren’t nuking prepared meals or throwing an oven safe ready made tray into the oven, it takes time. Salads are short and sweet but sometimes you want a delicious hot meal,…

Paleo Fried Sardines

July 2, 2015 by predominantlypaleo 8 Comments

There’s really not much to say about this recipe but here goes… I needed dinner. I wanted it to be super fast. My chicken was stinky despite an expiration date that indicated it should be good. So I needed a Plan B. I’ve been loving peeling open a can of sardines for a salad at lunch,…

About

Jennifer is a wife and mother of 3 in pursuit of better health for her family.
After being gluten free for 4 years, and having a multitude of chronic health issues, she realized there was still too much processed “food” in her pantry and change was needed. Jennifer began feeding her family more meals from WHOLE foods and less from boxes. Her recipes are predominantly paleo, meaning they are free of grain, gluten, dairy, and refined sugar, but make allowances for a few treats and sweets. She believes food can be medicine when used appropriately and that a few changes now can equate to huge benefits later. Healthy food does not need to be flavorless and void of personality, which she aims to accomplish through her many recipes.
