Healing Hot Chocolate (Vegan/Paleo)

December 18, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 10 Comments

I sort of feel like making a batch of hot chocolate for my kids is the perfect way to say “I love you”, “Feel better”, “Don’t be sad”, and “Warm up” all in one cute little mug. Today my 6 year came running home crying because her BFFFFF neighbor is leaving for Germany for 3…

Oy Vey!!! What a week! In just under 7 days I have submitted my manuscript for Down South Paleo, celebrated my birthday, and am launching Yiddish Kitchen!! December 2, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 5 Comments

If you’re anything like me, your enthusiasm for the holidays is followed by that feeling in the pit of your stomach when you think about all the temptations that lie ahead.  It seems from the moment Halloween rolls around, it is nothing but sweets, treats, and grain-filled EVERYTHING until after the new year strikes! When I…

Ham and Sweet Potato Soup (Paleo)

December 2, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 8 Comments

After a Predominantly Paleo friend suggested a soup made with ham, I realized that I really had not explored cooking with ham that much. I mean bacon, sure thing, but ham? Not really. Well this reader was craving a ham soup that would wash away the chilly days that seem to linger on and on…

Chicken Parma-Paleo

November 30, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 23 Comments

when i first gave up dairy, especially cheese, i became depressed.  when i tried vegan cheese substitutes, i became downright homicidal.  now that some time has passed, and i am slightly more level-headed, despite my dairy divorce, i am having fun learning how to live without and still find ways to love my “udderly” cheese…

Paleo Beef Stroganoff

November 24, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 19 Comments

Beef Stroganoff was one of my go-to dishes when I FINALLY learned to cook a few years back.  First it was over egg noodles, then transitioned over to serving it atop gluten free noodles.  There were “cream of” canned soups and all sorts of schtuff that I avoid like the plague now. So when I…

About

Jennifer is a wife and mother of 3 in pursuit of better health for her family.
After being gluten free for 4 years, and having a multitude of chronic health issues, she realized there was still too much processed “food” in her pantry and change was needed. Jennifer began feeding her family more meals from WHOLE foods and less from boxes. Her recipes are predominantly paleo, meaning they are free of grain, gluten, dairy, and refined sugar, but make allowances for a few treats and sweets. She believes food can be medicine when used appropriately and that a few changes now can equate to huge benefits later. Healthy food does not need to be flavorless and void of personality, which she aims to accomplish through her many recipes.
