Paleo Monte-Reuben-Cristo Sammiches

The hardest part of this little kitchen experiment today was coming up with a name! Crispy sandwichy thingy with the meat and kraut and saucy stuff just didn’t seem like it would do it justice, ya know? But the inspiration was a cross between the toasty monte cristo and the savory beefy reuben.  Both are clearly…

Paleo-O’s Cereal

Pale-O's Cereal

I hear a lot from people going grain free that they really miss cereal in the mornings for breakfast.  These days, there are several amazing grain free cereals out there, but many are nut based like my grain free yumola granola. So what happens when nut-sensitivities are in the house? Try telling a toddler that…

Paleo Toasted Beef Ravioli

Paleo Toasted Beef Ravioli

If it isn’t quite obvious by now, I am a big fan of finger foods. Pick em up, dip em, pop em in your salivating mouth. There are some finger foods that most of us with food restrictions figure we will never have again. And for good reason. Most finger foods, minus carrot sticks and…

Paleo Calzones

Paleo Calzones

Every once in awhile there is that food. The one that haunts you and makes you feel like life will never be quite the same without it.  Ya, kind of like that borderline personality ex that strings you along…but I digress. This is about CALZONES, Paleo CALZONES, not psychos. Calzones have that magical way about…

Paleo Carnitas on Yuca Cakes

May 28, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 13 Comments

Paleo Carnitas

AIP OR Autoimmune Paleo is an even more strict version of the grain and dairy free paleo lifestyle many have grown to love. It takes away nuts, seeds, eggs, chocolate, and nightshades, among other things.  It can be especially tough to adjust to all of these omissions after a lifetime of indulging. My hope in…

Paleo Maple Pecan Sausage Balls

Maple Pecan Sausage Balls

Growing up almost every grown-up party my parents dragged me to had a giant plate of those tasty lil sausage balls. You know the ones – with the Bisquick and cheddar cheese? Man, they are good. So good that I could stand by that plate all evening and stuff my face, popping in one after…

Paleo Pop Tarts {AIP/Nut Free/Egg Free}

May 15, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 29 Comments

Sometimes I want to be 5 years old again and truthfully I  don’t think there is anything wrong with that. I mean think about it – your biggest dilemma is which gifts you want to ask for for your birthday, your biggest woe is choosing between 8 best friends, and your biggest responsibility is trying to get your dirty…

Paleo Egg Rolls {Nut free/AIP}

Paleo Egg Rolls

Egg Rolls have always been my Chinese-American go to finger food. I mean, there is really nothing NOT to love about them. They are fried, filled with the perfect blend of meat, veggies, and seasoning, and they are fried. Oh, and they are fried! I love them dipped in sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce,…

Happy Hamburger

May 5, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 6 Comments

SWEET POTATO BUNS

Happy Hamburger Yes, I am calling these happy hamburgers. Is it silly? Yes. Borderline ridiculous? Maybe. But they made me happy. So there. These were so incredibly easy to throw together and there was no “downtime” waiting for the flavors to be absorbed. Just combine, make your patties, and get to grillin’ y’all! 1 pound…

About

Jennifer is a wife and mother of 3 in pursuit of better health for her family.
After being gluten free for 4 years, and having a multitude of chronic health issues, she realized there was still too much processed “food” in her pantry and change was needed. Jennifer began feeding her family more meals from WHOLE foods and less from boxes. Her recipes are predominantly paleo, meaning they are free of grain, gluten, dairy, and refined sugar, but make allowances for a few treats and sweets. She believes food can be medicine when used appropriately and that a few changes now can equate to huge benefits later. Healthy food does not need to be flavorless and void of personality, which she aims to accomplish through her many recipes.
