orange dreamsicle gummies

February 21, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 15 Comments

Well since the first round of homemade gummies brought so many smiles, I thought I would try to make a few more.  These are reminiscent of an orange pushpop, creamy orange yummies molded right into gummies! Always a childhood favorite, these are refined sugar free, packed with gut-healing gelatin, and really fun to eat!

ingredients:

  • 1 cup organic orange juice (i juiced my own but you can use store-bought)
  • 1/4 cup gelatin (i used this one)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 cup coconut cream
  • 10 drops orange stevia (i used this one)(omit for aip)
  • 2-3 small silicone ‘candy’ molds (i used these and this)
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan until heated through and well combined
  2. Quickly remove from heat and carefully pour into molds
  3. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firmed

Hi I’d like to make these for Easter; do you know how long they’ll keep in the fridge?

I would guess up to 3 days in a closed container but they can have a tendency to harden when exposed to air so the less time the better. Enjoy!!

Have you ever tried any other flavors? My kids don’t handle citrus all that well but these look great! Thanks!

Hello! Do you use coconut cream concentrate or the solid coconut cream from the top of a can of coconut milk?

Thanks! I can’t wait to make these- I ordered molds and they just arrived this week!! 🙂

About

Jennifer is a wife and mother of 3 in pursuit of better health for her family.
After being gluten free for 4 years, and having a multitude of chronic health issues, she realized there was still too much processed “food” in her pantry and change was needed. Jennifer began feeding her family more meals from WHOLE foods and less from boxes. Her recipes are predominantly paleo, meaning they are free of grain, gluten, dairy, and refined sugar, but make allowances for a few treats and sweets. She believes food can be medicine when used appropriately and that a few changes now can equate to huge benefits later. Healthy food does not need to be flavorless and void of personality, which she aims to accomplish through her many recipes.
