You’ve heard me share the ease of testing for food sensitivities in the comfort of your own home and now I’m so excited to share Easy Thyroid Testing at Home with Everlywell! Plus I’ve got a discount code for you to use on your order!
Last year, I shared my experience with Everlywell at home lab testing and showed you my results for my food sensitivity testing. In a nutshell, they helped confirm not only why I am still symptomatic with some foods, but also confirmed other testing I had had in the past from other companies and methods. In other words, Everlywell is LEGIT! This time around, I wanted to explore some other fun parts of my body.
In 2008, after the birth of my 2nd child (less than a year after my first baby was born), I was feeling absolutely awful. I was lightheaded, exhausted, had heart palpitations, horrible brain fog, felt edgy and irritable, and otherwise felt like raising two babies was virtually impossible. After I blamed post-partum for a few weeks, I finally decided to make a doctor appointment, which turned into multiple doctor appointments, and a whole lotta education on Hashimoto’s thyroid disease, my new diagnosis.
Over the early years with Hashi’s, I really dug into everything including which antibodies to look for, why TSH is not the best test marker, and why other tests like Free T4, Free T3, (and Reverse T3) are much more helpful in creating a better picture of what’s REALLY going on in there. I also discovered why eating gluten and dairy free can be helpful in managing illness.
I was prescribed desiccated thyroid replacement, which helps to keep things in check, lowers antibodies, increase thyroid hormone, and levels out my labs. As time has gone on, I now have a solid grasp on what my numbers typically look like when I am feeling optimal in terms of thyroid health. I like to periodically have a look at my labs to make sure my numbers are ok and that my medication does not need to be tweaked. Obviously this is where a healthcare practitioner comes in, but the testing itself is SO much easier to have done in the comfort of my home!

Because I am a busy mom who works full time, who often moves (thanks Air Force) and is at times in between practitioners, Everlywell has been a godsend for me! For me, a reliable at home test makes my life SO much simpler and is incredibly helpful to those just like me (who isn’t busy!?) and also for people who do not have insurance to pay for overpriced lab testing. I’ve also been to many endocrinologists who refuse to run any lab other than TSH <<insert mad face>> and so Everlywell makes sure to include other tests that can really give a better picture of what’s going on inside your body!
I decided to team up with Everlywell to share with you the two most recent tests I ran, including the THYROID TEST as well as the WOMEN’S HEALTH TEST. Though there is some overlap in the testing markers, I actually had to space these out between two different months based on my monthly cycle, so I got to see a few tests twice but at different times, which I love. I am a total lab junkie and have the thickest binder known to man packed with my labs from over the years. Isn’t science the best?
Ok so here’s the breakdown…

- TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone, released by the pituitary)
- TPO (antibodies)
- Free T3 (active thyroid hormone, typically converted from T4 in the liver)

So what happens when I get my results?! What do I do next? How do I read the results?
Do not worry! The results are emailed to you after you first receive email confirmation that your test kit has been received by Everlywell. Then you are able to open and review them. Fortunately, all the results are emailed in a format that is very easy to understand and digest. If you see any markers that appear to be suboptimal, it’s always important to follow up with your healthcare practitioner who can further explain and help correct imbalances.
Here are my Thyroid test results below. For me personally, these look good! I know when I am feeling my best and these labs luckily reflect being pretty close to that ideal for me. As you can see, there is an easy to understand range and result with each marker, and since I am a thyroid veteran, I am familiar with what to look for, but even if you are new to thyroid testing and just getting your feet wet, the results make it easy to seek additional help when something is not quite right!
That’s basically it! I’m so excited about trying the other tests now that we’ve tested for my husband’s food sensitivities, my own, plus my thyroid and women’s test kit. I encourage you to check out at least one of Everlywell’s tests too by clicking HERE and then entering code PALEO15 to get 15% off your order! Have questions? Message me and I’ll help! I absolutely love at home testing and Everlywell has made it so fast and easy!
Thank you for sharing this! I just did my very first Everylywell thyroid test. I can’t wait for the results! I’m really hoping it will give me some insight as to why I’ve been feeling so bad.
Oh yay! I hope you get answers!
