Grain Free Crepes

Prior to expanding this blog, there were many recipes I never even really thought about “paleofying.” The fun part about  asking for fan feedback is all of the new ideas and inspiration! This crepe recipe is the result of a fan’s request and it was a hit in our house this morning, Topped with my “not-tella” [3] there were many smiling, chocolate smeared faces. Ingredients:

Grain Free Crepes

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup flax milk (or coconut or almond)
  • 3 tablespoons arrowroot flour
  • 2 tablespoons ghee melted
  • 12 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon organic pure vanilla
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (for skillet)


  1. Heat coconut oil in skillet over medium/high heat
  2. Melt ghee first in a bowl, then whisk in other ingredients
  3. Continue whisking until there are no lumps of flour
  4. Pour 1/4 of the batter into skillet and allow to brown on underside before flipping
  5. Flip crepe to cook thoroughly on reverse side, then remove from skillet and repeat
  6. Should make about 4 crepes total
  7. Fill inside with desired ingredients, roll up and top with additional filling
  8. I used my not-tella [3] recipe and these were a hit!
