When Paleo Parents asks you if you want to contribute to a Cheesecake Factory Copycat Roundup, you don’t walk you run….to the KITCHEN!!! Awhile back I asked you lovelies what your favorite Cheesecake Factory dishes were and there were literally so many there was no way to even tally a vote. I contemplated doing the…

HAMANTASCHEN TACOS

What better way to celebrate Purim than with Hamantaschen Tacos! I first saw a non-Paleo version on Kosher in the Kitch and thought these were adorable! Though hardly traditional Purim fare, these are a family friendly recipe as fun for Purim as they are for Cinco de Mayo. This ain’t your Bubbe’s Purim! The taco…

Cassava Flour Dough

December 28, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 36 Comments

I promised y’all I would play mad scientist with the cassava flour and see how well it “subbed” for the full yuca root I use in my pizza crust, empanadas, perogies, egg rolls, and other yuca based recipes. So before I give you the “recipe” to make the basic dough, I want to give you the…

Perogies

Awhile back the Paleo Parents invited my family over for a cookout. My first thought was “YAY! We finally get to hang out and get to know each other better” and my second thought was “Oh crap! What do I bring to a 2 times Bestseller’s house?!?!” I needed something that would be tasty, that…

I am so stinkin’ excited about this post I could scream!  A few months ago one of my favorite kitchen appliances died.  At first I considered running out and replacing it but instead decided to keep an open mind and research a little.  I saw different ads and posts for Blendtec blenders and was intrigued….

Paleo Pumpkin Empanadas with Salted Caramel Drizzle

September 15, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 13 Comments

I have to be honest here… these paleo pumpkin empanadas with salted caramel drizzle are a little over the top, even for me.  But when my friend Joanne from Just Eat Real Food challenged me to make them, how in the world could I possibly say no??? I couldn’t. And with the crispness in the…

Paleo Mummy Dogs (Top 8 Free)

August 27, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 10 Comments

So it’s not quite September, I get that.  It was also 90 degrees today, I get that too.  But when Joanne from Just Eat Real Food told me I needed to create an allergen friendly mummy dog like those seen floating around Pinterest and seasonal magazines, I knew I had to just go for it….

Nut-Free Paleo Waffles {AIP VERSION}

July 21, 2014 by predominantlypaleo 19 Comments

Paleo Waffles (Pa-ffles)

Here I go mixing things up again. Apparently I like to create hybrids like my Paleo-Monte-Reuben-Cristo Sammiches where several concepts get thrown into one. I am okay with this – variety is the spice of life, right?! So last night I started thinking about waffles, AIP friendly waffles to be exact. I tried one round and…

Paleo Monte-Reuben-Cristo Sammiches

Paleo Monte-Reuben-Cristo Sammiches

The hardest part of this little kitchen experiment today was coming up with a name! Crispy sandwichy thingy with the meat and kraut and saucy stuff just didn’t seem like it would do it justice, ya know? But the inspiration was a cross between the toasty monte cristo and the savory beefy reuben.  Both are clearly…

About

Jennifer is a wife and mother of 3 in pursuit of better health for her family.
After being gluten free for 4 years, and having a multitude of chronic health issues, she realized there was still too much processed “food” in her pantry and change was needed. Jennifer began feeding her family more meals from WHOLE foods and less from boxes. Her recipes are predominantly paleo, meaning they are free of grain, gluten, dairy, and refined sugar, but make allowances for a few treats and sweets. She believes food can be medicine when used appropriately and that a few changes now can equate to huge benefits later. Healthy food does not need to be flavorless and void of personality, which she aims to accomplish through her many recipes.
